The General Manager of Berekum Chelsea, Oduro Sarfo says that the return of midfielder Owusu Jackson from suspension will boost the Blues chances of securing a win over Al Ahly Benghazi in Tunisia on Sunday to qualify past the Libyan outfit to the second round of the 2014 CAF Champions League.
The 20-year-old missed Berekum Chelsea’s 3-0 win on penalties against Atlabara FC in the CAF Champions League reverse encounter and last Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Ahly Benghazi in Berekum due to a two-game ban. The Local Black Stars player had to serve the two-game ban for receiving a red card in Berekum Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Atlabara, where he scored twice at the Golden City Park on February 9th.
“Fortunately for me Jackson will be playing in the next game so everything will be ok. Jackson is a very strong midfielder who has shot, of late he is the one who scores all of our goals. If we get into a competition and we are asked to bring our star player, like Ghana has Asamoah Gyan as star player, Jackson is our star player. Jackson carries the team on his shoulders, Jackson can do so many things that you will not believe. So I know Jackson’s qualification to play in the next game will give us the advantage,” Oduro Sarfo said.
The Blues needed a last gasp goal from Obed Owusu in injury time to avoid a home defeat at the Golden City Park last Sunday.
Berekum Chelsea will be leaving Accra for Tunisia on March 5th after holding Wa All Stars to a goalless draw in their Premier League match day 19 fixture at the Golden City Park on Tuesday.
