Ghanaian
versatile defender Lee Addy’s hopes of making Ghana’s squad at the World cup
has hit a jolt as doctors have confirmed the 23 year old will be out for close
to six months.
Lee Addy was
stretched off in the 9th min on in Dinamo Zagreb’s league game on Wednesday
at the Stadion Maksimir after damaging his knee. And according to the team
doctor of Zagreb, the former Ghana under 20 defender will miss the rest of the
season.
“The review
of the first diagnosis confirmed Addy has a subtotal rupture of the interior
cruciate ligament and tearing of the lateral meniscus of the knee”. Team doctor
Ivica Smodek said.
This means
the former Brekum Chelsea and Red Star Belgrade man will be out of Kwasi Appiah’s
23 man squad that will make it to the global soccer fiesta in three months
time.
Addy joined
the Croatian side this season from Chinese side Dalian Aerbin and has made 17
appearances for the blues.
