After losing
two games on row, Ghana’s Kelvin Price Boateng helped his side Schalke O4 to
secure a vital win on Saturday afternoon when they recorded a 4-0 win over TSG
Hoffenheim at the Veltin Arena.
Schalke who
had lost heavily twice on a row 6-1 and 5-1 in their champions and domestic
league tiers to Real Madrid and Bayern Munich respectively came back very
strong to beat Hoffenheim at home with Ghana international KP Boateng playing a
crucial role in midfield for the Royal blues after setting up one of Schalke’s
goals in the second half.
The 26 year
old former Milan star laid a wonderful pass to Nigerian International Chinedu
Obasi to blast home a shot from the right hand side of the box to the left
bottom corner of the post to record Schalke’s third goal in the 55th
min. Boateng however came close to find the back of the net in the 74th
min when he shot from long range only for the Hoffenheim goalkeeper Koen
Casteels to deny him after tipping the ball to corner.
The Ghanaian
born lasted the entire game for Schalke. The win however keeps Jens Keller’s
men at 4th position with 44 points.
Same points as third placed Bayern Leverkusen.
Schalke’s
next league fixture will be against FC Augsburg away.
