Ghanaian
players all over the world are still making sure they write their names in the
good books of Black Stars coach Kwasi Appiah ahead of the world cup. Abdul
Majeed Waris was on target over the weekend as he keeps on with his impressive

Ghanaian players in the world fared over the weekend for their respective
clubs.
SPAIN
Both Fatau Mohammed and Richard Boateng were named in the Granada team who went to draw 3-3
at Gatefe, with Fatau playing full 90 min whiles Boateng could only watch from
the bench. Striker Richmond Boakye
Yiadom came off the bench for Elche in the 71st min for
Christian Herrera but could not find the back of the net when they were held by
Real Betis to a 0-0 draw at the Martinez Valero.
In the
Segunda division Thomas Partey for
the second time in one week was on target Mallorca when they beat Tenerife 2-0
at home
ITALY
Micheal
Essien started for
Milan and was sacrificed in the 8th min for Marco Amelia after Milan
goalkeeper Chritain Abbiati received a red card when Milan lost 2-4 at home to
Parma. Sulley Muntari was on the
Milan bench and could not get any playing time. Fellow Ghanaian Afriyie Acquah however tasted 80min for
Parma and set up the second goal for his side. Alfred Duncan who has hit the
headlines in Italy with his impressive form came on in the 73rd min for
Livorno when they beat Bologna 2-1 at home. In other games, Abdul Rahman Chibsah warmed the bench
for Sassoulo when they scored three past Catania at home. Kingsley Boateng could not play for Catania. Kwadwo Asamoah was in full action for Juventus when they beat Genoa
1-0.Ghanaian midfielder Isaac Cofie
was missing in action for Genoa.
In the seria
B Acosty Boadu Maxwell tasted full
action for Carpi when they lost 0-1 to Cittadella away from home. Left back Masahudu Alhassan received his marching
orders when he was red carded in the 63rd min in a game which saw
his side Latina lose 1-0 at home to Trapani. Duo Amidu Salifu and David Moro
played 90 min for Modena and Empoli respectively as the game ended in a
stalemate. Moro Alhassan was unused
when Cesena lost 0-1 to Siena at their favorite grounds Atermio Franchi
GERMANY
In the
Bundesliga, Kelvin Prince Boateng
urged Schalke O4 to climb to 3rd on the table after helping them
with a 2-1 win over Augsburg away. The Ghanaian international was booked in the
38th min. Fellow Ghanaian Anthony
Annan made the Schalke bench. Ghanaian born Karim Bellarabi scored in the 48th min for TSV Eintracht
Braunschweig and was substituted in the 81st min when they drew at
home 1-1 with VfL Wolfsburg.
In the
Bundesliag II, Charles Takyi warmed the
bench for Energie Cottbus
when they managed a slim 1-0 win over Karlsruhe at home. Full back Abdul Baba Rahman could not make the
SpVgg Greuther Furth team that drew 1-1 with FC Union Berlin. Marcel Appiah as usual was in the Heart
of defense for Arminia Bielefeld when they lost 1-0 to SV Sandhausen.
FRANCE
Andre Ayew played 90 min and helped Marseille to secure a 1-1 draw when they
played Stade de Reims at the Auguste Delaune. Abdul Majeed Waris once again was on the score sheet when he
powered Valencienne to a 1-0 away win over Jonathan
Mensah’s Evian Thonan Gillard. Mensah could only watch the game from the
bench. John Boye played the entire duration for Rennes who lost 2-3 at home to
Toulouse. Bad Boy Jordan Ayew missed
Sochaux’s 2-0 win over Lorient due to suspension.
In the ligue
2, Kwame Nsor is yet to recover from
an injury as he was out of the Metz squad that went to beat Chateauroux.
NETHERLANDS
Dutch born Elvis Manu powered Cambuur Leeuwarden
to victory when he scored the winning goal in the 85th min to help
his side collect all 3 points at home when they beat RKC Waalwijk 3-2. The
Ghanaian forward was however booked in the 28th min. Christian Atsu was in top form when
Vitessi lost 1-2 at the Geredolme to PSV Eindhoven. The Chelsea loanee however
played the full game for the Vitas. Good old Kwame Quansah came on to play the second 45min for SC Heracles
Almelo who shared the spoils with Roda JC Kerkrade as the game ended
1-1. Ghanaian forward Mathew Amoah
could only make the bench for Heracles. The game between Twente Enschede and AZ
Alkmaar saw winger Shadrach Eghan
playing 84 min for Twente as they beat Alkmaar 2-1. Meanwhile Francis Dickoh was not in FC Utrecht
squad that drew 2-2 with NEC Nijmegen. Both Fred Benson and Mawouna
Kodjo Amevor were in the match day squad for PEC Zwolle and Go Ahead Eagles
when PEC beat GAE by 2-0. Amevor came on to play the last three min for GAE
while Benson could not get any playing time for PEC. Jeffery Sarpong came on in the 68th min to help NAC
Breda hold Ajax to a 0-0 drawn game.
Youngster Jonathan Opoku scored in the 25th
min and played the full game when his side FC Oss demolished FC Emmen 8-0 in
the Eerste Divisie. Swedish born Ghanaian Patrick
Amoah came on in the 76th min to help Fortuna Sittard claim a point
at Helmond Sport after the game ended 1-1.
RUSSIA
Elsewhere in
Russia,midfielder Rabiu Mohammed is still nursing an ankle injury as he was not part
of Kuban Krasnodar squad that drew 1-1 with
Dinamo Moscow. Mubarak Wakasu came on to play the last 6 min for
Rubin Kazan when they beat Volga Nizhny Novgorod 3-1 at the Tsentralnyi
Stadium.
SOUTH AFRICA
In the ABSA
Premier league, Ghanaian trio Frank
Sarfo Gyemfi, Awal Mohammed and John
Awuah were all named in the squads of their respective teams when
Meritzburg lost to Amazulu 3-1 at the Harry Gwala Stadium. Frank Sarfo Gyemfi returned from injury to start for Meritzburg but
was substituted in the 67th min with fellow Ghanaian and former
Asante Kotoko defender Awal Mohammed
only sitting on the Merizburg bench. John Awuah who was on the winning side
played the entire duration for Amazulu. Ghana’s number one goalkeeper Fatau Dawda played second fiddle to
Senzo Miyiwa when Orlando
Pirates lost 0-1 at home to Kaizer Chiefs. Goalkeeper Daniel Agyei despite returning from
injury did not make the Free State Stars team who won 1-0 away over Bidvest
Wits. Striker Abdul Basit was on the
bench for Free State. Rashid Sumaila was in the Hearts of defends when Memolodi
Sundowns beat Bay United 1-0. Edwin
Gyimah came on in the 70th min to help Supersport united secure
a 1-1 draw with Celtic.
ENGLAND
Derrick
Boateng who has
been dropped to the reserves side of Fulham was as usual out when Fulham won
1-0 at home over Newcastle United.
In the
Championship, Albert Adomah played
full throttle when Middelsbrough drew 0-0 with AFC Bournemouth at the Deen Court
ground. At the King Power Stadium, Jeffrey
Schullp played the entire game and
helped Leicester City when they beat Blackpool 3-1. In other games, Emmanuel Frimpong played 90 min Barnley
when they lost 3-0 at Watford. In the league 2, David Amoo was in full action for Carlisle United when they were
held to a goalless draw game by Stevenage at the Brunton Park. Elsewhere in the
League 3, Patrick Agyemang came on
in the 67th min for Portmouth but his effort was not enough to help
the Pompey’s avoid a 3-1 defeat to Fleetwood town at the Highbury Stadium. In
the English Conference Ghanaian defender Kelvin
Amankwaah was in defense for Salisbury city when drew 0-0 at home with
Gateshead.

Prince
Buaben was in
superb form when Partick Thistle beat Hibernian 3-1 at home. Arsenal loanee Daniel Boateng was not in the Hibernian
team.
PORTUGAL
Aminu
Dramani could not make the match day squad for Gil Vicente who lost 1-2 to
Rio Ave at home. Left full back David
Addy played 90 min for Guimaraes who
drew 1-1 with Paços de Ferreira.
GREECE
Arago Jamal was not in the Atromitos team who drew 1-1 away with Veria. Samuel Nkoom helped Platanias wallop
Kalloni AEL 7-0.
SWITZERLAND
Former
Hearts of Oak forward Edward Afum came
on in the 80 min for Young Boys who drew 1-1 away at St Gallen. Ishmeal Yartey was in his usual best
for FC Sion Sitten who lost 2-4 to Grasshoppers. Ebenezer Assifuah missed out for Sion through injury
SLOVAKIA
In the
Slovakian top flight, general captain for the Black Stars, John Mensah played 72 min for FC Nitra when they lost 2-1 to Sonica
away.
TURKEY
Black Star
defender Jerry Akaminko was in
defence for Eskisehirspor who won 1-0 over Elazigspor.
BELGIUM
Frank
Acheampong was still
out through injury when Anderlecht won 4-0 at home over KV Oostende. Enoch Adu Kofi came on in the second
half to feature for Club Brugge when they beat Cercle Brugge 2-0. Nana Kwasi Asare also played the entire
duration for KAA Gent when they lost at home 1-0 to Zulte- Waregem. Bernard Yao Kumordzi played 85 min for
Racing Genk when they went away to draw 2-2 at KV Kortrijk. Daniel Opare was in action for Standard
Liege when they drew 1-1 with Waasland-Beveren.
