The Black
Maidens of Ghana are reported to arrive in the country on Sunday March 30,
after they were booted out from the FIFA under 17 Women World Cup in Costa Rica
by Italy on Thursday night.
Maidens who
were determined to at least equal the success they chalked two years ago in
Azerbaijan by reaching the last four of this year’s competition saw an end to
their campaign after losing 3-4 on penalties to the Azzurines when the game had
ended 2-2 in regulation time.
The Maidens
who were the favorites among the two to advance to the next round saw an end to
their crusade after Japanese referee Fusako Kajiyama appeared determined to
blunt or tame Ghana's physical edge with several whistles and decisions against
the Maiden's in a game which clearly saw Ghana being embittered.
The team is
therefore set to arrive in Ghana in two separate batches on Sunday March 30.
