Ghana and Medeama midfielder Micheal Helegbe has revealed his desire for a Black Stars call up stating that he is ever ready to play for the senior national team when ever given a call.
The former Asante Kotoko midfielder who captained the national under 23 team, the Black Meteors to the 2007 All African games in Abuja (Nigeria) is one of many returnees from stints abroad currently playing in the local league.
“Every
Ghanaian footballer would like to play in the national team and as a player and
playing actively I will also be happy if given a call up. I am always ready for
the Stars.” He told Accra based Power FM.
The 28 year
old former Liberty professional marksman was a vital member of the Local Black
Stars team prior to the 2014 CHAN tournament in South Africa but failed to make
the cut after sustaining an injury.
Michael
Helegbe who made his Black Stars debut way back in 2007 in a friendly against
Austria when he came off the bench for Haminu Dramani in the second half have
since not made any appearance for the Stars.
